Introduction of FEP Resin High Speed Extrusion

Processable fluoropolymer

The melting point of FEP crystallization is 304 ℃ and the density is 2.15g / c (g/cubic centimeter). It is a kind of soft plastics, its tensile strength, wear resistance and creep resistance are lower than that of many engineering plastics. It is chemically inert and has a low dielectric constant (2.1) in a wide range of temperatures and frequencies. The material does not ignite and can prevent the flame from spreading. It has excellent weathering resistance and low friction coefficient. It can be used from low temperature to 392F. Also has the good processing performance of thermoplastic.


Fluorinated Ethylene Propylene, also referred to as FEP, is a form of fluoropolymer insulation. FEP is very resistant to chemicals, has a broad temperature range and it exhibits excellent electrical properties. Due to these physical and electrical characteristics FEP is an excellent choice for use in chemical, medical, electronic and aerospace industries. A common use for FEP in military applications would be in coaxial cables such as M17/113-RG316, commonly referred to as RG316 coaxial cable


Perfluorinated ethylene-propylene copolymer for high-speed extrusion (DS618)

Fluoropolymer  DS618 are high molecular weight resins of low melt index,with low extrusion temperature,high extrusion speed which is 5-8tims of ordinary FEP resin. It is soft,anti-burst and has good toughness.

Main Applications of FEP Resin High Speed Extrusion

Mainly for aviation and aerospace industry,the MTR transport vehicles,automatic switching equipment,well test equipment,flame alarm systems,high-rise buildings,fire regional wires,cables,computers,communication networks,electrical fields,particularly applicable for high-speed extrusion small-caliber wire insulation material. It is more economical when used in where no high stress cracking resistance is required.

Attention

The processing temperature should be not exceed 420°C,to prevent toxic gas from releasing.

Electrical Insulation

The electrical insulation of FEP resin is very similar to that of PTFE Resin. Its dielectric coefficient from deep cold to the highest operating temperature, from 50Hz to 1010Hz UHF wide range almost unchanged, and very low, only about 2. 1. The tangent of dielectric loss angle varies slightly with frequency, but not with temperature. The volume resistivity of FEP resin is very high, which is generally greater than 1015 Ω m, and has little change with temperature and is not affected by water and moisture. Arc resistance is greater than 165s. The breakdown field of FEP Material increases with the decrease of thickness. When the thickness is greater than 1mm, the breakdown field strength is above 30kV/mm, but does not change with the change of temperature.
